Menu: C64 Files → Datasette 1530 [TAP]
Use this menu item to open the datasette window. This window emulates a datasette drive model 1530.
This window has all options to work with tape images (.TAP). A tapeimage is 100% the data of a cassette that is saved to a file. This file is called image and is the datacontainer. There are a lot of different image types. Emu64 can handle .TAP files that are the images of one side of a tape in this window. Load T64 images via the menu items Autostart …, directly load C64 files … or via Drag and Drop.
Operating this window is quite similar to a real datasette.

Use “open Tape“ to load a tape image (a new cassette is put into the tape drive).
The datasette uses a counter to see at which position the tape is. Use the ZERO button to set the counter to zero. If you press one of the PLAY, REWIND, F.FFW or RECORD buttons the LED display for the motor is turned on.
When recording (RECORD) the LED for record is turned on.
There is no difference between a normal music tape and a datasette tape. Both contain audio signals. It is possible to listen to the audio signals on the datasette in Emu64. Use the volume slider bar to set the volume of these sounds.
