Menu: Tools → GameBase64
GameBase64 (www.gb64.com) is a project collecting C64 game in a database. The database features a lot of information about the game and the games can be downloaded from linked servers. Emu64 offers an interface to this database with its own frontend. It is very easy to do.
Click on GameBase64 and the new Gamebase frontend window opens.
Emu64 reads all available database entrys and shows what is in the database. The database entrys are red only once per Emu64 start.
Using the GameBase64 window is really easy. You can navigate it with your mouse. You close the GameBase64 window by clicking the symbol in the upper right of the window.
Part (A) of the GameBase64 window
All GameBase64 database entrys for games and programs are shown in this area. Use the scrollbar on the right or the cursor keys to scroll up and down. If you click on an entry with the left mouse button a screenshot of the entry is shown in area (B) (in case a screenshot is available). The display in areas (D) and (E) are updated. Doubleclick on a database entry and the C64 file gets downloaded and started in Emu64.

You can remove the favourite with the context menu option (2). Emu64 automatically saves and loads your marked favourites. Use the context meun option (3) to export your favourites list (save as file) and context menu option (4) loads a favourites list.
Area (B) of the GameBase64 window
On the right side of the GameBase64 window the screenshots of the selected entry are shown. If there is no screenshot available a default 'no screen' image is shown. The name of the C64 file is shown under the image.
Area (C) of the GameBase64 window
To the left of the button is the search bar where you can enter your search strings. Acknowledge your search with enter or click the

Click this button to load a favourites file (.FAV). A window opens up and you can choose a favourites file to view without overwriting your own favourites. You can use this function to share and trade your favourites with other people. The database entrys are shown in area (A). To show that these are external favourites a green sphere icon with a red 'E' inside is shown next to these entrys. Use the context menu option Add to Favourites (1) to add an entry from the external favourites list to your own favourites. If you change the view the loaded external favourites are removed from the list.
Area (D) of the GameBase64 window
The information in the database also tells you which joystick port the game uses. If you put a check next to activate you can choose which joystick you want to use. When starting the game Emu64 uses the correct joystick port. If you don't activate the checkbox the default Emu64 joystick settings are activated when starting a game from the GameBase64 window.
Note
Nobody is perfect. Some joystick port settings are wrong in the database If you find a wrong entry and the joystick doesn't work you can change it with the right click context menu when clicking on the Emu64 screen. This is no error in Emu64. The entry within the GameBase64 database is wrong.
Area(E) of the GameBase64 window
There are 2 possible versions of the button in area (E).
The selected game in area (A) is not yet downloaded onto your harddrive. To start it you first have to download it from the internet. If you click the button Emu64 starts downloading the file and starts it automatically.
You can see the download progress on the progress bar in the lower part of the screen.
Locally availabe is written in green letters under the button. The game was already downloaded so you can just start it by pressing start.
Note
If you started a game via the GameBase64 tool you don't have to keep the GameBase64 window open. But of course you can keep it open and download another game.
